Homestead School
Homestead School offers a unique early learning program for toddlers, preschool, and kindergarten-age children, with mixed-age classes on our 25-acre family farm—home to chickens, pigs, goats, and woodlands filled with wildlife.
At Homestead, your child will experience:
Zero screen time – learning is hands-on and immersive.
Ample outdoor play – rain, shine, or snow!
Engaging, play-based learning – fostering growth in every child.
We partner with parents to nurture the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, mentally, and academically—creating a foundation for lifelong curiosity and confidence.

Homestead School offers a nature-based, play-filled preschool and kindergarten experience for children ages 2–6. Our days are spent exploring the outdoors, connecting with animals, and learning through hands-on discovery—rain or shine.
Fall Semester Start Date: August 25, 2025
Enrollment Process:

1: Visit & Apply
Join us for a tour. After your visit, complete your application to tell us more about your child and your family’s needs.

2: Confirm & Enroll
If we’re a good fit, we’ll follow up to confirm your spot. A deposit (first month or semester tuition) is due upon enrollment.

Get ready for a season of wonder & growth! Your child will jump into days full of play, exploration, imagination, and discovery.
A Day at Homestead School
Our program welcomes children ages 2-6, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
A typical day follows a natural flow, adapting to the season:
⏰ 8:30 AM – Drop-off, Circle Time, Learning Centers
🌿 9:30 AM – Snack & Outdoor Adventures
🍎 11:45 AM – Family-Style Lunch
😴 12:30 PM – Rest & Quiet Time
🌳 2:30 PM – Snack & More Outdoor Exploration
🏡 3:30 - 4:00 PM – Pick-up

Tuition & Enrollment
Enrollment begins with an application and family interview. Schedule a visit today to start the process!
Tuition Rates:
$75 per day | $350 per week
5% discount for semester payment
5% sibling discount
Schedule Options:
Semester-based with a committed schedule
Full-time & part-time available (2-day minimum)
Healthy snacks & lunch included
Closures: We observe federal holidays, winter break, and summer break.
Summer at homestead:
PRESCHOOL & camp options
Homestead School operates year-round, with preschool continuing through the summer for children ages 2-6. For older children (up to age 11), or those seeking a summer-only experience, Homestead Camp offers hands-on outdoor adventures, woodland exploration, and farm activities.

With a background in Special Education and experience raising her own children on an organic homestead, Melisa brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role. She fosters a caring and inclusive environment where each child feels valued.

A Waldorf-trained educator, Katie specializes in connecting children to nature. Her experience in sustainable agriculture and farm education enriches the learning experiences she provides, allowing children to cultivate a deep appreciation for the natural world.

Our journey began with a dream of creating a holistic childcare experience for our own daughters. With backgrounds in ecology, business, and homesteading, we are committed to providing an environment where children can thrive through nature, creativity, and self-reliance.

The best way to experience Homestead School is to see it in action! We offer:
One-on-one tours – Personalized visits for prospective families. These tours take place on Friday mornings. Your child and at least one parent or guardian must be present.
