Summer Preschool Teacher
Pay: $15-25 per hour
Status: Temporary position (June 16 - August 15)
Schedule: Full-time or part-time
Position Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Summer Preschool Teacher to lead a dynamic summer program. This role involves implementing a stimulating curriculum that supports children's growth while integrating outdoor activities, self-help skills, and gardening experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Provide supervision and care for children aged 2-6 years.
Develop and implement engaging summer lesson plans aligned with our program’s philosophy.
Lead outdoor play, nature walks, and exploration (up to 1.5 miles daily in all weather conditions, including rain and snow).
Ensure that teachers are properly attired and equipped with appropriate gear for working outdoors in various conditions, including waterproof and insulated clothing, sturdy footwear, and weather-appropriate accessories.
Track and assess each child's developmental progress.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
Participate in parent communication and student evaluations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
Attend team meetings and school functions as needed.
Complete all required training and clearances per PA regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Degree or certification in Early Childhood Education.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in childcare or early education.
Passionate about outdoor education and hands-on learning.
Must be physically capable of working outdoors for long periods daily in all weather conditions, including rain and snow, and must arrive properly dressed for the conditions.
Must be able to walk long distances and comfortably lead hikes with children.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
